Wasted Time

Gosh, yesterday I got side-tracked again. After spending maybe 6-7 hours trying to learn some new website software I became totally frustrated and called it quits. I hate giving up, especially after working so hard on something I think should be easy. It was actually hard for me to enjoy the rest of my day with my husband and father-in- law. Pitiful. My unhappy attitude again reminded me of the treasures on earth that I continue to pursue and hold fast to when God has placed before me the opportunity to store up eternal treasures that bring Him glory. Loving my family and spending quality time with them.

Special Afternoon

What a special afternoon I had with a best friend, Krista. With our schedules and different responsibilities in life we rarely get to see each other face to face. But oh what a treat it is when we do!
I brought salad, she made pizza and we talked ourselves to “exhaustion”. With only 3 hours to get caught up on just about a years worth of thoughts, ideas, and activities we made but a small dent in the questions we had for each other. Sometimes I was so excited I think I even lost track of my words. Pretty pitiful.
All in all, I totally enjoyed myself ( I always do) and am thankful that God continues to protect and grow our friendship. Here is a sweet picture of Julia, and brother Brighton in front of their gorgeous Christmas tree.

Sidetracked

What to say... well I have spent the day doing chores so that I could spend some quality time with the Lord. BUT, I have gotten sidetracked with learning about this Blog and have put the Lord last. That is not my hearts desire, although my actions are certainly contradictory. How often I stumble on interesting personal pursuits like reading books, going for walks, watching movies, talking on the phone to friends and family, and working on the computer. These are not bad things but they are not the best things either. Just as Martha got side-tracked in the kitchen while Mary was sitting at the feet of Jesus, I am caught up in second-best activities. Shame on me!
